Elementor
Elementor is the leading website building platform in WordPress, serving over 5 million websites worldwide. Their product has a strong impact in the web design industry which makes it a fascinating place to work. As part of the product marketing department, my role requires the creation of websites and visuals that showcase the company’s upcoming product features. The key request is to create designs that inspire people, engage the audience, and result in customer conversion.

Data & Research
Design is determined by data and research. A project begins by reviewing and testing a new product’s features, following with a research of the market trends and the customer requests. Once all this information is in place, data mapping and analysis will determine the direction of the personas I need to create and the design approach I need to take.

Trend forecasting is a very essential part for presenting product releases. Every project has it’s own mood-board filled with design ideas and data research made through the previous process that helps in creating the design trends. Different use-cases are applied in bespoke designs to highlight product use, promote ease of access, and inspire the users. Once the templates are completed and user testing has been performed, project assets are optimised and exported for development use.
Project Development
This is where the designs come to life. The development of a website starts in WordPress using Elementor. A beta product version is tested with the new design. Once the design is coded into a WordPress template and the product returns with no errors, a clean re-build is performed which is optimised for web and marketing use.
Responsive Design
Responsiveness in website builders works well with simple designs, when it comes to advanced layouts and element positioning though, they are very limited. Despite the limitations of Elementor I worked closely with the development & marketing team to modify, code and support responsive layouts that would fit both the designs and the abilities of the website builder. Most of the templates I designed are supported to display on different devices and browsers and successfully adapt to different screen sizes.
